As autumn sneaks up on us and the summer winds down, Glenwood Adventure and Lakota Guides Glenwood Springs are getting to run their last trips rafting the Shoshone rapids in Glenwood Canyon.

Late summer and fall is a great time to try out inflatable kayaks and SUPs on the Colorado River.

Glenwood Adventure had a fantastic summer and took more Glenwood Springs visitors and locals on the river than ever before. That’s why there is an extremely limited number of spots left to go whitewater rafting in Glenwood Canyon this season. There are less than 50 spots left, so if you planned to get in a last whitewater rafting trip this year you should book a trip as soon as possible.

That being said, Glenwood Adventure Company and Lakota Guides Glenwood Springs will run their other rafting trips on the Colorado River as long as Mother Nature allows us. The Colorado River Trip is a great late summer and fall river trip. This trip offers the best blend of excitement, including the Class III South Canyon Rapid, with miles of scenic beauty. Swimming opportunities abound, as the warm Colorado air makes the cool Colorado River very inviting. Complementary river toys will be included on this trip, and the more adventurous will enjoy the independence of captaining their own vessel. This trip is perfect for all ages and abilities. Trip departs daily at 11:00, and will run through the fall season.

Adventurers are also welcome to rent our inflatable kayaks for a self-guided leisurely tour of Glenwood Canyon. Guests can put in at Grizzly Creek, surrounding by striking canyon walls and a few sandy river beaches to take breaks and go for a swim. Inflatable kayaks, or duckies, are outfitted for singles or doubles and are great for a large spectrum of abilities. Duckies are an easy way for first-time kayakers to try out the river.
